Disposal Fees

• No tipping fees for solid waste originating in Electoral Area A
• Electoral Area A construction & demolition waste: $300/Metric Ton
• Access Permit form required for waste originating outside of Electoral Area A

Accepted Materials

• Household garbage
• Scrap metal
• Car batteries
• Empty propane tanks or other empty gas cylinders (remove valves)
• Demolition Waste

Not-Accepted Materials

• There are a number of items we are unable to accept at the landfill including used oil, paints, solvents, asbestos, and bio-hazardous waste. Check the Recycling Council of BC Recyclepedia to find locations of waste disposal companies/landfills in the region that will accept these items.
  
  
• The Chaumox Landfill will no longer be accepting couches, mattresses, and box springs. These items may be disposed of at the Hope Mattress Depot.

Please note that smoking as well as the use of drugs, alcohol, or firearms is prohibited at the landfill.
