FVRD Seeks Feedback from Multi-Family Residential Building Property Managers and Strata Councils on Recycling and Waste Diversion Barriers
March 4, 2024
The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is calling on property mangers, and strata councils of multi-family residential properties throughout the region to participate in a survey designed to identify and understand real and perceived barriers to participation in recycling programs.
“Survey results will assist the FVRD to better understand how multi-family residential properties are diverting their waste through commercial haulers,” said Jason Lum, FVRD Board Chair. “We want to learn what is working, what is not, and what improvements will help,” he said.
The feedback received will highlight the current recycling programs within multi-family residential properties, how individuals use them, and the associated potential barriers of effective waste diversion. Once this level of understanding is achieved, the FVRD aims to provide tools and support to managers and strata councils of multi-family properties that will raise awareness of existing programs, and support them to improve recycling practices. This will further our goals of reducing the amount of garbage being sent to local landfills.
The survey is estimated to take 10 minutes or less, and all answers will remain anonymous. After completing the survey, participants have the option to enter a random draw for one of two $75 prepaid MasterCard gift vouchers. The survey is available by visiting this link.
