The threat of flooding from the December Atmospheric River event has substantially subsided. However, pre-existing flood risks in the Chilliwack River Valley remain. We continue to monitor the elevated risk of landslides due to soil saturation from this event. If you are a resident of the Chilliwack River Valley and would like to learn more about the ongoing heightened flood and landslide risk, please contact the FVRD Planning department or visit the FVRD Web Map to view the geohazard reports for your property.

Emergency Incident Updates
Below you’ll find key information about incidents where we have held a coordination role. Many incidents occur that do not rise to the level of impending threat to life and property. There are a number of active wildfires across the landscape in the FVRD electoral areas. Wildfires are a natural part of the environment and in most cases do not pose threat to people or property. When they do create risk to communities and properties, FVRD is notified by the BC Wildfire Service in partnership with the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness.
