- FVRD and FOODMESH Update on the Fraser Valley Food Recovery Network November 20, 2024 The FVRD has been collaborating with FoodMesh since 2018 to divert food waste within the region. The online platform connects local food banks, charities, and farmers with grocery stores and food producers so that surplus food is put to better use than ending up in the trash. Read More

- Hazard Advisory UPDATE - Chilcotin River Landslide & the Fraser River August 4, 2024 As a result of the landslide blocking the Chilcotin River, the Province of BC has advised their updated modelling provides an improved assessment of worst-case scenario risks. The modelling indicates water levels in the Fraser River is anticipated to be below freshet (spring snowmelt) seasonal levels. Public safety risks still apply. Read More
- Hazard Advisory - Chilcotin River Landslide & the Fraser River August 1, 2024 FVRD is aware of the Chilcotin River landslide and subsequent provincial emergency alert. The Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR) has been in contact with FVRD and staff are monitoring the situation. Read More
- North Fraser Fire Department Firefighter July 12, 2024 As a result of an off-duty incident, a North Fraser Fire Department Firefighter has passed away. At this time, the FVRD is waiting to speak with the grieving family to gauge their comfort level before issuing any further statements. Read More
- Air Quality Advisory - Cancelled July 11, 2024 The Air Quality Advisory for elevated ground-level ozone (smog) for the Fraser Valley Regional District and Metro Vancouver that has been in effect since July 8, 2024 has been cancelled. Air quality has improved due to a change in the weather. Read More
- Air Quality Advisory In Effect July 8, 2024 An Air Quality Advisory has been issued for Central Fraser Valley and Eastern Fraser Valley due to elevated ground-level ozone (smog) that is expected to last for a few days. Read More
