EOC Update
December 10, 2021
The Emergency Operation Centre is currently on a Level 3 activation with approximately 25 staff working. EOC staff are assessing all the issued Evacuation Orders and Alerts to understand when they can be rescinded. A number of emergency engineering and construction projects are being managed by the EOC, working with FVRD staff or contractors throughout the Regional District.
Several air reconnaissance flights have happened in the past few days to assess upcoming works for bank stabilization, to assess flooding levels in communities like Hatzic Prairie and to give staff perspectives on log jams and other debris issues in the Chilliwack River.
Team Rubicon Canada is on the ground assisting with clean up and erosion efforts in several areas including the Columbia Valley in Area H. They have also been in Laidlaw in Area B to assess hazards.
