Flood Response Communications Survey Results

Earlier this year, the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) shared a survey with electoral area residents, property, and business owners impacted by the 2021 extreme weather and flood events from November 14 to December 2, 2021.

351 people completed the survey and shared how they were impacted and received emergency information.

What we heard and how we’ll address the feedback:

• FVRD’s evacuation orders and alert notices were sometimes hard to read. We will review the template to make the notices easier for the public to read and understand.
• The frequency of posting information on social media and the website was not frequent enough. Staff will work to improve the frequency of public updates
• The FVRD website and social media could be improved and made easier to navigate. Staff will review the emergency management section of the website and seek ways to improve it.
