Heatwave Warning This Weekend
June 22, 2022
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Fraser Valley as temperatures are expected to rise for the first weekend of summer.
The Fraser Valley will experience a stretch of warmer than average temperatures from Friday, June 25 to Tuesday, June 28. Beginning on June 25 temperatures will reach into the upper 20's. Through the weekend and into early next week, temperatures in the low 30's are forecast. There will be some respite from the elevated daytime temperatures as overnight lows fall into the mid-teens.
With rising temperatures, there will be an increase in snowmelt and snowpack instability. High stream flows and water levels are expected. Use extra caution near high-flowing waters and avalanche-prone terrain.
