Air Quality Advisory Cancelled
June 8, 2023
The Air Quality Advisory issued June 7 for fine particulate matter and ground-level ozone has been cancelled. Air quality has improved due to favourable winds and cooler temperatures.
Given that two out-of-control wildfires continue to burn near Harrison Lake, there is potential for smoke to return and contribute to hazy conditions in parts of the region. In the coming days, air quality may again be impacted by wildfire smoke and additional air quality advisories may be needed. Smoke concentrations may vary widely across the region as winds, temperatures, and wildfire behaviour changes.
The Fraser Valley Regional District and Metro Vancouver work in cooperation with Environment and Climate Change Canada, and B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy to look after air quality.
