FVRD is seeking three volunteers for the Board of Variance
April 24, 2024
The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is seeking three members to serve a three-year term on the Board of Variance (BOV).
The BOV is an independent body that considers requests from property owners for minor variances to the FVRD's Zoning Bylaw. These variances are typically regarding the siting, size and dimensions of buildings that would cause a person undue hardship. The British Columbia Local Government Act requires local governments that have adopted a zoning bylaw to establish a BOV. The board deals with requests for minor relaxations to the zoning bylaw, where it is evident that the present zoning creates an undue hardship unique to the property in question.
The application period is now open for the upcoming BOV term. To apply, complete the application form found here https://haveyoursay.fvrd.ca/bov.
Applications will be received until June 7, 2024.
