Volunteer Firefighter Application

Consider joining the Fraser Valley Regional District's dedicated team of volunteer firefighters!

Volunteer firefighters are your neighbours, co-workers and friends. They are caring and dedicated individuals who are prepared to come to your aid whenever they are called to do so. We rely heavily on our volunteers to assist with fire protection in the small rural communities of our electoral areas.

Member Eligibility

A person is qualified to be a member of a volunteer fire department who:

  • Is 19 years of age or older
  • Must live or work within the boundaries of the respective Service Area that the applicant would like to serve in
  • Holds a valid BC Driver's License
  • Undertakes a Criminal Record Check with respect to the applicant's role as a Member
  • Can perform the duties required of a Member
  • Is a Canadian Citizen, or who is legally entitled to reside and work in Canada
  • Within one year of the Member's appointment successfully completes the recruit basic training program offered through the volunteer Fire Department
